Bleacher Bookie’s Lock NFL Picks: Week 8 Edition

All lines provided by My Bookie

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-4) vs. Carolina Panthers (4-3) @Raymond James Stadium Tampa, FL 1pm et.

The Bucs are coming off a tough loss at New Era field against the Buffalo Bills. The Tampa Bay defense has not been the team’s strong suit this season. Look for a rebound week from a struggling Carolina offense. Cam and the Panthers have a -22 point differential in the month of October. Expect Jameis Winston to air it out, and another poor Cam Newton press conference.

Pick: Bucs -1.5

New York Jets (3-4) vs. Atlanta Falcons (3-3) @Met Life Stadium East Rutherford, NJ 1pm et.

Josh McCown and the Jets offense have been shocking defenses all year long. Since Austin Seferian-Jenkins has come back from his two-game suspension to start the season, he has had 26 receptions on 34 targets and three touchdowns. On the other sideline, Matt Ryan has been struggling all season long against the AFC East (0-3). I anticipate last year’s MVP to air it out against a young Jets secondary and Mohamed Sanu to have huuuuuge game. However, the Jets still squeak a close one out.

Pick: Jets +7

Philadelphia Eagles (6-1) vs. San Francisco 49ers (0-7) @Lincoln Financial Center Philadelphia, PA 1pm et.

Ray-Ray Armstrong has been leading an underachieving San Francisco team. The 49ers aren’t as bad as their 0-7 record suggests. With that said, they have no chance. Look for the Eagles run game to get back on track with LeGarrette Blount scoring multiple touchdowns and Carson Wentz to continue his sophomore MVP campaign. Bleachers Fans lock of the week, Eagles in a snooze fest.

Pick: Eagles -12

Cleveland Browns (0-7) vs. Minnesota Vikings (5-2)

While the Browns are really terrible on offense, they’re actually not that bad on defense. Minnesota being weak on offense could bring about a similar low scoring game that the Browns had last week with the Titans. Browns defense only gives up an average of 327 YPG. Look for the Browns to have a shot at their first win of the year against a poor Minnesota offensive squad and a really good spot to cover.

Pick: Browns +10

Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2) at Detroit Lions (3-3)

While this may seem like a trap game with the Steelers going into Ford Field. The three points generally spotted by the home team in the eyes of Vegas would make the Lions and Steelers even teams, which simply isn’t true. The Lions have one of the worst offensive lines in the league in terms of allowing sacks, The Steelers D line is one of the best in that sense. With Stafford receiving core possibly being hurt and the Lions running game being non-existent for the last, ya know decade or something. With AB and Leveon Bell finally gaining consistency, and the Lions lacking that in general, lay the points in a convincing Steelers win.

Pick: Steelers -3
