I’m gonna go on a limb and say that the only ones who can take down the Cavs are the Washington Wizards. Also that the Wizards vs Cavs series is as good as set in stone. Been saying it all year, Wizards verse Cavs, and it really should be a great series. Although I was confident the Wizards could beat the Celtics, with them basically dead to rights down 2-0 this looks more likely than ever. The Bulls have talent and are playing great somehow, but they won’t beat the Wizards. The Raptors or Bucs sure as hell ain’t beating the Cavs either. I don’t care if the Raptors have Serge Ibaka, I’ve read that story to many times and it always ends with Cleveland dismantling the dinosaurs.
The Bulls have talent and are playing great somehow, but they won’t beat the Wizards. I don’t trust Rondo and John Wall is 100x better than Rondo, no matter how well he is playing. The Raptors or Bucs sure as hell ain’t beating the Cavs either. I don’t care if the Raptors have Serge Ibaka, I’ve read that story to many times and it always ends with Cleveland dismantling the dinosaurs. In fact, the Raptors may not even beat the Bucs, although I see them winning in 7. And the Bucs? Love the Greek freak and what they’re doing but too young and no Jabari, they would be handled easily in 5.
So we’re gonna have Wizards vs. Cavs and I am psyched for it. The Wizards without a doubt have the starting lineup to do it, starting Wall, Beal, Porter, Morris and Gortat. Wall and Beal are dynamic guards who can single handily win games. Porter and Morris stretch the floor and give them space to create. Then we have one of my personal favorites Marcin Gortat aka “the polish hammer” who is a baddd boy down low. You see his dunk over Paul Milsap? Yeah, message fucking sent. The question for the Wizards though has always been their bench.
I have been on record saying I loved the Boran Bogdanovic trade and still flabbergasted how it’s been going under the radar for this long. The guy can shoot and score off the bench something desperately needed. They also added Brandon Jennings, who is more than capable of backing up John Wall. Other than that though, I don’t trust their bench. Especially when the Cavs can pull guys like Kyle Korver, Derron Williams, Iman Shumpert, Derrick Williams, Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson. The veteran leadership and depth there is absolutely insane.
Nonetheless, this series won’t be easy for the Cavs, at all. I see it going at LEAST 6 games and perhaps even 7. It’s not that John Wall CANT go on the road and beat the Cavs, I gained a lot of respect for Wall. Wall is balling this year putting up career highs in points and assists as 23.1 and 10.7 respectively. He should be on every single person ‘s MVP ballots and he probably won’t because of all this fucking triple double hoopla. Absolutely ridiculous how much those two turn it over and get away with it. Not taking away from them, it’s just simply never mentioned that they both SHATTERED the turnover record with 15 plus games to go. However, Wall is also playing lockdown defense, chasing down people for blocks and very sticky fingers. Oh yeah forgot career high 2.0 steals per game this year too.
But for me, as I said this isn’t a testament against John Wall, it’s about LeBron James. LeBron is not losing Game 7 to the Washington Wizards at home in Cleveland. I just don’t see this happening he has shown in recent memory that he can rise up in the big moment. Many times he gets shit for not taking the shot, but instead, he makes the right BASKETBALL decision. Like being doubled and finding teammates for open shots. Bron Bron has also set career highs in field goal percentage, rebounds, and assists. How many players have done that in their fourteenth year? Nobody has done more than one in their fourteenth year. Yes, we do fall accustomed to sleeping on the king’s greatness.
Also, oh yeah that boy Kyrie Irving is pretty damn good. He’s shown he can make big time shots time after time. He has the best ball skills in the league, by far in my opinion, and I don’t know if you noticed but he’s playing the best defensive of his life. He’s made key stops in each of the first two pacers games. That will be the key for the Cavs moving forward, defense. No doubt they can score at will, but defensively they’ve been pretty terrible this year ranking just 22nd in defensive efficiency. Thankfully the Wizards haven’t been much better at just 20th this season. But if they do want any chance at beating the Warriors they need to play near-elite defense.
But buckle up because these NBA playoffs could get very interesting, especially in the Eastern Conference. Being a huge fan of both the NBA and Bron I can honestly say this is the best chance a team has at taking his team down since those Celtic teams with Allen, Garnett, Pierce and Rondo. So there is a reason to be excited, who knows maybe the Spurs will even give the Warriors a run, they do have Pop and the Klaw. The Wizards are a dangerous team and John Wall looks more determined than ever with his best team ever. I like Cavs in 7 but let’s not forget that 135-130 2 OT Cavs win in February because it was the best game of the year, by far.
