Sunday night, Bills cornerback Shareece Wright called Uber after arriving at Chicago’s O’Hare airport. Wright needed a ride to Buffalo for a voluntary practice with the Bills, the only problem is he was in Chicago. He and the Uber driver Hadi Abdollahian took an eight hour and 550 mile trip to Buffalo. Wright made it to practice, but it cost him a hefty penny as the Uber totaled $632.08 and tipped Abdollahian a lavish $300.
Abdollahian originally thought that Wright wanted to go to Buffalo Wild Wings, according to the Washington Post Wednesday night. Once Abdollahian realized he meant the city of Buffalo he said “I promised him on the road…So I said, ‘Let’s hit the road.” Very noble, can’t say I would have done that, 550 miles is far as fuck.
Abdollahian a Turkish immigrant also said “He introduced himself and said he was a football player…He starts talking about his family and kids. He was really an amazing guy. I loved his company. We had a great time.”
The two exchanged number and are now friends. Abdollahian is a Bears fan but says he’ll be rooting for the Bills too because of Wright. I mean I would too when your team is the Bears you’ll take any extra connections you can as an Uber driver. Not that the Bills are much better, in fact, they’re not they’re a complete joke as well.
This story is just really something fucking else. Like I don’t even know where, to begin with, this one. On Wright’s part insane dedication on his behalf. Mind you this was VOLUNTARY, meaning it was optional, he didn’t have to go. Now that sounds like a fucking competitor and guy I want on my team. He’s currently competing with Ronald Darby for a starting spot in the Bill’s secondary but sheesh. Players that live five minutes away from their facilities are constantly missing voluntary workouts over contract talks. My hats off to Wright, the guy sounds like a good dude and as crazy as the WHABOOMMM guy from the bachelorette. Don’t ask me how I know that.
Now for Hadi, the guy deserves a fucking medal of honor. He thought he was taking him to BUFFALO WILD WINGS! Nah we’re going cross country from Chicago to Buffalo. I’m sure the guy made off well and he got the $300 tip which was nice. But Uber compensate this savage more! Give him double money, bonus, driver of the year, and then some. He really had every right to say “Nah dude piss off I’m not driving to shithole Buffalo just so you can get to practice. Got shit to do tomorrow.” Or even just no, you’re crazy. But he did! Think about it, he had to drive EIGHT hours back too!
Now for the juicy stuff. They said the ride went well and Wright talked about kids and family, but umm what about the other fucking 7 and a half hours?! I take Uber all the time to pregame at my buddies place. Within a few minutes, the convo either is just forced and as awkward as walking in on one of your parents naked or just fucking stupid. Then you go on your phone and pretend to be busy and wait for you to get to your destination to get rocked with the boys. As if you aren’t already.
Like seriously what could these dudes have been talking about?? A Turkish immigrant and a professional football player. Crickets. We’ve all been on those long ass road trips with friends. I don’t know about you guys but they don’t always go smooth sailing for me. Not to say I’m starting shit but I mean when you’re talking that long shit just happens. Sure it’s a good ride at first but eventually, you’re just gonna get fucking sick of each other! You get annoyed at the other person’s voice, you get in a dumb argument, politics comes up, a discrepancy, anything! Mind you lack of sleep can make you go insane and you might just flip out for no reason. FYI I love road trips and they’re a blast but you usually KNOW the people! Almost always your best friends or family, almost never a random Uber driver.
So I really need details of what they talked about more than just “family and kids”. Did Hadi give his entire life synopsis? Did he explain what Turkey and their culture is like? Maybe Turkish cuisine? Did they talk about going to Turkey together? Did they talk about the NBA finals? Did they talk about Kathy Griffin leading to a political feud? Did they talk about how much the Kardashians suck and are famous for nothing but Kims fat ass which is now cellulite? Did they talk about all the dumb shenanigans they used to get into as kids? Or even if the world was created by the BIG BANG?
Look I like that it worked out and they are now friends but I need fucking answers. “Kids and family” doesn’t exactly fill up eight hours of talking time. I want details, I want stories, I want to know what they disagreed about and if it let to a fight. Cuz eight hours in a car with anyone let alone a stranger in the middle of the night to Buffalo? Damn that shit will test your limits. God bless the two of them for coming out alive. We can only imagine how Shereece played in practice Monday morning.
