On NFL live today, Jim Trotter referred to Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins as a ‘gangsta’. Now I don’t know exactly what it takes to be considered a ‘gangsta’ but I do know Kirk is not one. But Kirk is good, really good. Throwing for nearly 5,000 yards last year its hard not to like Cousins. In fact, he’ll even tell you it.
YOU LIKE THAT? I don’t like it, Kirk, I love it. So, too does Jim Trotter who used the aforementioned reference in supporting Cousins betting on himself. Cousins will more than likely be under the team’s franchise tag for the second consecutive year. Being that he should make 24 million this year after 20 last year, I tend to agree with Trotter. That’s a lot of dough. And more than likely barring bad injury or horrible play will get a huge deal next summer. Cousins is one my favorite players and personalities. I love the passion he has for the game he loves. Who could forget in the Pro Bowl when he HUNTED Aquib Talib down the field for a strip tackle after throwing an interception. Here it is if you missed it.
SAVAGE! How bout dat? You like that Trotter? Savage is the word that comes to mind for me with Cousins. Being that his reference of ‘gangsta’ was in a positive manner I get it, to each his own. Savage, gangsta, call him whatever you want the guy gives it his all every play on the field even in games that don’t necessarily count. Especially after watching the dreadful NBA All-Star weekend filled with no passion, energy, or defense. Wish the players would start taking the game more seriously so we don’t have teams coming near 200 points. Ridiculous. Cousins’ is a prime example of how any young athlete should aspire to play the game, with passion.
